Summer is Almost Here!
Hi, folks!
We know it’s been a minute since we’ve last checked in with y’all, but we’ve been real busy putting out our new poetry book! We wanted to take this moment at the end of Asian Pacific American Heritage month to highlight some of the press and reviews that our newest author Dani Putney has been receiving for their terrific debut poetry collection SALAMAT SA INTERSECTIONALITY!
Dani’s book has received blurbs from folks such as Roy G. Guzmán, the author of CATRACHOS:
“Dani Putney’s debut collection, SALAMAT SA INTERSECTIONALITY, is a slutfest bravura, a graveyard of reinvention, and an erotic sanctification. These poems squeeze possibilities from the corners in the U.S. ambiguated between love, lust, and heteronormative self-denial.”
And from C. T. Salazr, author of HEADLESS JOHN THE BAPTIST HITCHHIKING:
“SALAMAT SA INTERSECTIONALITY is a paradise ankle-deep in desert sand. To read these poems is to rest within Dani Putney’s tender understanding of how the things we always touch—the bodies we love, the places we inhabit—are shimmered in our desire but never owned.”
Dani’s book has also been reviewed in Trampset and Ruminate, and has been featured in Maudlin House and LitReactor. Be sure to check it out!
We also wanted to take this time to promote more of Okay Donkey Press’s fantastic Asian Pacific American authors, such as the author behind our most recent fiction book, Tara Isabel Zambrano’s DEATH, DESIRE, AND OTHER DESTINATIONS.
You can also find a selection of some of our favorite flash fiction and poetry by Asian Pacific American authors for free in Okay Donkey Magazine below:
